Our wine classes are designed to put the fun in wine!
At the Amber Crest Wine School we offer an environment that is inviting to anyone who wants to learn, enjoy and experience wine. As winemakers, we hear all of the time from people who would like to know more about wine, but really aren't sure how to go about it. So we created all of our informal classes to not only educate, but entertain as well. Our classes are great for individuals, couples or groups! It's time to get out of the house, do something fun and learn something new in the process! So whether you have never tasted wine or are an experienced connoisseur, we invite you take the only classes in the Charlotte area taught by winemakers. See you there!
Our Really, Really Fun Wine Class - Starting the Journey
Tuesday July 15th from 7:00-8:30
Take this class and you will leave knowing more about wine than 95% of people who didn't!!!!!
Our most popular class! We believe the only way you can teach wine is through tasting. Instead of giving you a lot of boring information that you can read in a book, you will taste several different wines and discuss the stuff you really want to know
Like: *How do you pronounce some of those crazy wine names and what the heck do they mean.
*Other people say they can detect all types of aromas when they sniff wine...I don't. We'll show you how and what to look for.
*Why do you swirl the glass and how do I keep from spilling wine on my friends!
*What are tannins and why do they make my mouth pucker?
*How to tell what a wine will taste like before you buy it.
*What is the difference between a light and full body wine and why it matters.
So bring your sense of humor and be prepared to taste, laugh and learn!!!!!

Wine Making Class, Where You're A Winemaker For A Day!

Always wanted to learn about making wine? Here's your chance! We will start out wiht a winery tour, then an overview of winemaking, followed by a group tasting. Everyone will then participate in starting a new batch of wine. Each person will then actively fill, cork, cap and add a special lablel to a bottle of wine. The bottle is then yours to take home. Road Trip. That about says it all! Always wanted to see some of the other wineries in our area? Here's your chance. Start out with a free tasting at our winery and then we load up to tour and taste at 3-4 North Carolina Wineries, vineyards and all. This will be a fun and interesting guided tour that will show you some of the inner workings of some of North Carolina's finest wineries. Your $59 tuition will include a free tasting at Amber Crest Winery, transportation and a guided tour to the other winerys. Tasting fees will apply at other wineries. Wine Blending, Mad Scientist Version

Ever wanted to create your own special blend of wine??? We will bring out several bottles of wine and allow you to be a mad wine scientist!!!! Yes, that's right, wine friends, you pick the percentages of different wine and and blend your own. Then you take home a bottle of your creation. Mayhem will then probably ensue... Wine, Chocolate and Cheese, A Wine and Food Pairing Extravaganza!

This class is a really cool way to learn about wine and food pairings! You will learn about pairings the only way you can by tasting several different wines, cheeses and chocolates!! By the end of the class, not only will you know what food goes with what wines, but you'll also be able to order wine in a restaurant with confidence. Wine, the Next Step
This class is a the next class to take after Our Really, Really Fun Wine Class. Designed for the intermediate wine drinker, this class (like all of our others) not only will be fun, but we will take your palate to the next level. We'll taste a bunch (intended pun) of wines that you probably never tasted before. We will discuss some basic food and wine pairings and after you take this class, you will no doubt be the envy of all your friends!
