Starting Out
Amber Crest Winery started out in early 2007 as a traditional winery. To achieve the best quality wine possible, instead of working with our own vineyards, we decided to import our grapes from all over the world from areas like the Napa Valley, Italy, France, Australia and Spain, We then fermented, produced and bottled our wine in our Charlotte, North Carolina facility. We made many different varieties and received many accolades about our quality and taste of our wine. But on a whim, we also included something that was very rare at the time. We offered custom labeled wine.
Business Grows
As word spread about our wine and our ability to custom label, our business began to grow and grow. We started to do more and more wine with custom labels for weddings, birthdays, business gifts and other special occasions. By 2009 custom labels had become 90% of our business.
We Expand Nationally
So in the fall of 2009, it was time to take our business national. Following the demand of our business, we decided to concentrate fully on custom labels. So we closed our tasting room and decided to offer our wine exclusively through the internet at www.AmberCrestWinery.com as America’s first “Virtual Winery”. Virtual because you can sit at your computer, design your own label and then choose your variety. We print the label, apply and ship your wine to you. It’s that simple. We now have the capacity to ship custom labeled wine to almost anywhere in the United States.

Our hope is that you will discover what people in our local market have come to know, which is our custom labeled wine is fun and makes for a wonderful experience. From a pricing standpoint, since we make our own wine there’s no middleman which makes it very affordable and in some cases even cheaper than national brands.
